The Property Appraiser/Investigator classification series examination is a continuous file process meaning candidates submit the application (STD 678), completed examination (Training and Experience Examination), and the Condition of Employment (Form 631) at any time of the year to be included with the next quarterly examination closure. Recommendation: Apply for all classification levels you qualify for (see the minimum qualifications in the examination announcement).


Step 2. Job Opportunities

You must submit an application (STD 678) for each vacant classification of interest and following the instructions on the job announcement.

The Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers (BREA) is hiring a Senior Property Appraiser/Investigator . BREA shall consider a Property Appraiser/Investigator. Senior Property Appraiser/Investigator:

  • Under the direction of the Supervising Property Appraiser/Investigator, the Senior Property Appraiser/Investigator performs a variety of difficult, sensitive and complex property appraisal examinations and investigative functions relating to the licensing of real estate appraisers and registration of Appraisal Management Companies (AMCs) and the investigation of complaints against real estate appraisers and AMCs.
  • Property Appraiser/Investigator:
  • Under supervision of the Supervising Property Appraiser Investigator, the Property Appraiser Investigator performs the less difficult, sensitive or complex property appraisal examinations and investigative functions relating to the licensing of real estate appraisers and registration of Appraisal Management Companies (AMCs) and the investigation of complaints against real estate appraisers and AMCs.
